Abstract

Scholarly writing of alternative art from former countries of Soviet Union is a slowly emerging yet intriguing topic. In this sense, Sara Blaylock, an Associate Professor at the Department of Art and Design at the University of Minnesota Duluth, fills an important gap in the field by masterfully analyzing the experimental art scene of late East Germany (GDR) in her new book “Parallel Public: Experimental Art in Late East Germany.”
