Özet

In this study, construction steel (St 52-3) in 4 mm thickness was welded by MIG/MAG welding method, which is commonly used in many industries. Mixture gases used in MIG/MAG welding method are of great significance in this method. Thus, in the present study, three different gas mixtures and two different electrodes were used. The mixture gases are 80Ar+18CO2 + 2O2, 88Ar+10 CO2 +2O2, and 93Ar + 5CO2 + O2. SG2 and SG3 electrodes were used to join the materials. After the application of the MIG/MAG welding, the mechanical properties of the specimen taken from the welding seam were examined. In the experiment in which three different gas mixtures and two different electrodes were used, it was found out that the joints made with SG3 electrodes and 88Ar+10 CO2 +2O2 displayed high mechanical properties.
