Precautions that have to be taken against potential problems in the anesthetic management of two parturients with placenta previa and placental abruption which are causes of antenatal bleeding with increased risk of massive hemorrhage have been presented. Primarily, spinal anesthesia was performed in the 1st case having potential risk of massive hemorrage due to plasenta previa and then followed by general anesthesia for the second exlploration due to bleeding. Spinal anesthesia was also preferred for the 2nd case having ablatio plasenta.
