In this study, microstructural transformations, hardness and tensile properties of Al-7075/T651 alloy were investigated by applying different RRA (retrogression and re-aging) heat treatment procedures. The conventional RRA method involves 10 min of retrogression of the sample at 200 degrees C, followed by room temperature quenching and re-aging at 120 degrees C for 2-32 h, respectively. RRA heat treatment applied with pre-deformation effect was carried out with two different methods and deformation rates. Thus, the effects of pre-deformation amount on microstructure and tensile properties during RRA heat treatment on Al-7075 alloy with T651 heat treatment were investigated. Distribution of secondary phases, dislocation density, micro-strain and interplanar peaks were calculated by XRD analysis. During the RRA heat treatment, the break elongation value of the alloy increased by up to 20% with the applied pre-deformation amount of 5%.
