Anestezi Dergisi, vol.14, no.4, pp.219-227, 2006 (Scopus)
In recent years, despite developments in the type and use of intravenous anesthetics, inhalational anesthetics are still the corner stones of clinical anesthesia. Newer inhalational anesthetic agents like sevoflurane and desflurane, which are known to have particular advantages, do not include all the features of an ideal anesthetic when compared to old inhalational agents. However, as their usability increases, incidences of adverse effects increase as well. In this review, some adverse effects of sevoflurane and desflurane and the new inhalational anesthetic agent xenon will be discussed.
