There have always been samples of fantastic genres in the world literature and cinema. However, since 2001, movies, like Lord of the Rings/ the Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers and Return of the King, adapted from Jhon Ronald Reuel Tolkien's book has resulted in a specific world through adaptation of fantastic literature objects into movies by means of human heroes. Within this framework, apart from many fantastic heroes, giant types has stood out and attracted people's attention. Besides Greeks' mythological heroes, like Cyclops, Titans, the characters like Gorgoroth, stone giants, mountain giants, Belgermer have come into prominence and have been brought out of mothballs and become favourite heroes of movies and comic books. They have been in the limelight. In terms of our literature, the ones not familiar with the similar types in almost all mythologies and epics have known of only these characters. The aim of this study is to determine the features of wicked giants in Turkish epics and to reveal cultural richness by highlighting the situation of epics; and to indicate that we do not have deficiency in this issue, comparing other mythological heroes and objects.
