In this study, zero current transition soft switching technique for one phase full bridge converter has been proposed. A zero current transition converter is formed by adding a resonance branch, which consists of an inductance and a capacitor, and two auxiliary switches to a traditional one phase converter. Soft switching conditions for the main and the auxiliary switches are maintained by activating the main switches in the resonance branch during on/off transitions for a short time. Firstly, the operation principles and the analysis of the zero current transition converters are given for the proposed system. Then, the switching losses of both converters have been examined by operating them under the same load and switching frequency conditions. The experimental studies show that the performance of the proposed zero current transition converter has been significantly increased.
