In this study, it was aimed to determine the features of 18 - 23 years old college students' rooms' interiors and interiors elements, and satisfactions and demands of students. For this purpose, rooms of 94 students randomly chosen from Biology and Food Engineering Departments of the Middle East Technical University (METU) are examined with a questionnaire in terms of its dimensions, floor and ceiling covering features, characteristics of interior elements and material preferences, making purchase decisions of furniture. Results show that 65% of rooms are between 8-10 m(2), 75% has wood/laminated flooring, 83% has walls painted; girls prefer pink and orange colors more while boys prefer blue and white; more than half of students make purchase decisions themselves and 90% of students prefer furniture made of wood and wood based materials.
