The researches made about design of earthquake resistant structures have been concentrated on reinforced concrete, steel and to some extent on wooden structures in terms of earthquake safety. Earthquakes not only affect reinforced concrete and steel structures but also masonry structures. In this research, the bolted connection will be used between shear wall and planks in the application of external shear wall strengthening of a masonry structure. The optimum number of bolts required to connect the plank and the shear wall used for the strengthening of the masonry structure in fixing to it on level of floor was aimed using this method. As a result of the experiments in this study, It was considered that six bolts would be enough for the connection due to dimensions of shear wall.
