This article investigates the shielding effect of different materials using MRADSIM software, which is designed to simulate the effects of radiation on electronic, biological, and material targets. The goal is to study new shielding materials for space-borne and earth-based application. The study assesses the shielding effectiveness of various materials against gamma-rays emitted by Co-60 and Cs-137 using a PMMA substrate and various shielding materials. The results from Geant4 simulations, conducted with identical geometry and parameters, confirm the accuracy and reliability of MRADSIM simulations. The relative difference between the two softwares remained below 1.5% in most cases.
