A new composite zirconium-based magnetic metal organic framework (Zr-MOF@CotFib@Fe3O4) was synthesized and used for preconcentration of Pb(II) from pekmez and tahini. Lead was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Zr-MOF was synthesized, functionalized with cotton fiber, and magnetic properties were imparted to the material. Obtained material was characterized by using XRD, FTIR, SEM and BET methods. Extraction parameters such as eluent type and volume, pH of sample solution, stirring time, amount of solid phase and volume of sample solution were optimized. Langmuir adsorption capacity of composite material was found under optimum conditions. The adsorption capacity of adsorbent was found as 192.5 mg g−1. The LOD, LOQ and liner working range were found as 1.04 μg L−1, 3.54 μg L−1 and 3.54 – 5.00 × 103 μg L−1, respectively. Both percent relative error and percent relative standard deviation were found less than 5 % for spiked samples.
