Özet

Asclepios is the name of the God of Health in ancient Greek culture. Asclepions are temples built in the name of Asclepios. One of the most important asclepions is in Pergamon. Galen of Pergamon is a physician who lived in 216-129 BC and whose name is identified with Asclepion of Pergamon. The effect of the theories he declared on western medicine lasted until the Renaissance. Here you are going to read a shortly prepared review to drive the attention of our physicians to the cultural heritage of Anatolia and to the interesting sides of medical history.
