Abstract

The development of a feasible method for fulvic acid production in an

industrial-scale system was the main objective of this research. Purification of

fulvic acid extracted from leonardites via the formation of fulvic acid ester was

investigated. Extraction from leonardite and esterification of fulvic acid with

ethanol, precipitation and separation of ethyl fulvate, hydrolysis of ester, recovery

of ethanol and separation and drying of fulvic acid were studied experimentally.

Optimum operating conditions were determined. Based on these findings, a pilot

plant was designed.
