Özet

Effects of Visually Restrictive Exercise Interventions on Neuromotor Coordination and Functional Performance Abstract Exercise interventions involving visual deprivation have become an increasingly prominent area of research in terms of motor control, neuroplasticity, and performance development. The systematic reduction of visual input affects the sensory reweighting mechanism in the central nervous system, thereby increasing the relative contribution of proprioceptive and vestibular inputs, which can reorganize sensory and motor integration. Studies indicate that visual deprivation interventions yield significant improvements, particularly in perceptual abilities and information processing speed, while reducing reaction time and producing positive effects on performance outcomes in sports requiring open-skill tasks. Conversely, the effects on attention and higher-order decision-making skills are reported to be limited or heterogeneous. It is noted that neuroplasticity-based adaptations are more pronounced in trained individuals and result in the strengthening of existing neural structures in line with the facilitation model. At the biomechanical level, it is stated that visual constraint interventions lead to adaptations characterized by strategies requiring greater attention in walking and postural control parameters. In clinical practice, visual deprivation approaches are highlighted as an innovative and potentially effective tool in the rehabilitation of sensorimotor deficits. However, factors such as dosage, individual differences, and task variety must be carefully planned in these applications. In conclusion, while visual deprivation exercises offer multidimensional benefits in both performance enhancement and rehabilitation processes, they are considered an intervention area requiring methodological standardization.
