Özet
Felsefi etkinlik, kültürel bir ortamda ve o ortamın diliyle hayat bulur. Felsefe, hareket noktası ve kuruluşu
itibarıyla milli; ele aldığı konular ve yönelişi itibarıyla evrensel özellikler taşıdığı için, felsefe dilinin kültürelana dil dahilinde oluşturulması gereği vardır. Amaç kültürel-ana dilimizi temel alarak onun ifade
imkanlarını geliştirip, verimli bir felsefe atmosferi oluşturabilmektir. Türkçenin kavrayış gücünün
gelişiminde, şüphesiz Türkçenin etkileşim halinde olduğu ve felsefe açısından verimli bir ortam oluşturan
klasik dillerin ve Batı dillerinin anlam zenginliklerinin ve ifade imkanlarının fark edilmesi önemlidir. Bu
açıdan bakıldığında Türkçenin İslamiyetin kabulüyle (9-10 y.y.) Arapçanın ve sonraki yıllarda (12.y.y.)
Farsçanın etkisi altına girdiği, Batılılaşma hareketleri doğrultusunda ise Batı özellikle Fransız etkisinin
hissedildiği, yeni düşünce ve terimlerin dilimize yerleştiği görülür. Bu çalışma Tanzimatla birlikte yönünü
Batı uygarlığına çeviren ve bu doğrultuda pek çok felsefi düşünce, akım ve yeni terimle tanışan Tanzimat
dönemi düşünürlerinden başlayarak 1950’lere değin ülkemizde felsefe dilinin gelişim sürecini
sözlük/Felsefe sözlüğü ve terim çalışmalarına değinerek ele almayı amaçlamaktadır.

Abstract
Philosophical activities invigorate in the language of its cultural environment. Because philosophy is
national by its establishment and starting point whereas it is universal by its in terms of its topics and
tendencies, the language of philosophy needs to be developed within the cultural-native language. The
objective is to further develop the ability of expression based on the cultural-native language and to
establish a productive environment for philosophy. Beyond any doubt, it is important to figure out the
richness of meaning and expression of classical languages and western languages – serving as a productive
environment for philosophy – which Turkish language interacts with in development of the conception
ability of Turkish. It is observed through this perspective that Turkish language had been influenced by
Arabic with conversion to Islam (9th
– 10th centuries) and later by Persian (12th century), and influence of
the West and French in particular was heavily seen and new ideas and terminologies were settled in our
language in line with the westernization movements. This study aims at a discussion of the process of
development of a language of philosophy in Turkey with a view to the terminology studies and efforts to
prepare dictionary/dictionary of philosophy starting from the thinkers of the Reorganization Period who
had turned their faces to the Western civilization and had been thereby introduced with many new
philosophical thoughts, movements and terms until 1950s.
