Özet

In this research, the self-efficacy of undergraduate students for project preparation was examined in the workshops called "Project Education on Biology Undergraduate Students" which are supported by TÜBİTAK. In addition, in this study, the needs of the students in project preparation were determined. The achievements of the students from education and the difficulties they encounter in the project writing process have also been identified. The data of the study were collected in two separate periods and each workshop consists of 6 days and 60 hours. The same program was applied in both workshops. Participants were 38 female and 12 male undergraduate students. Participants from 13 different university were undergraduate biology students (39) and biology teacher candidates (11). A mixed research method was used in the study. The "Project Based Virtual Learning Competencies Scale" was applied as a pre-test and post-test. At the end of the trainings, 'Project View Questionnaire' was applied to the students. As a result, there was a significant difference between pre- and post-training selfefficacy of the undergraduate students for project preparation, t (49) = - 7.577, p˂.05, r2 = .53. A significant difference was found in the average of self-efficacy scores between girls and boys in preparing for the project, t (48) = 2.225, p˂.05. There was no significant difference in the self-efficacy of biology undergraduate students and biology teacher candidates for project preparation compared to their faculties, t (48) = -. 572, p˃.05. According to the analysis of the Project View Quastionnaire data, the participants found the invited speakers and advisors to be successful, they could communicate easily with the project advisors, they could get enough contribution and support from their advisors, contribute the whole project to the professions, think that the information and experiences they can use are available in their lives and the Project period should be extended. The results of the research are important for planning and for giving an idea of the effect of such training.
