Abstract

A new species, Cassidaizginurbalae sp. nov., has been described from Hakkâri province in Türkiye. Cassida izginurbalae sp. nov., is related to Cassida alidagiense Özdikmen, Şahin & Bal, 2019, Cassida linnavuorii Borowiec, 1986; Cassida brevis Weise, 1884; and Cassida bella Faldermann, 1837, from which it differs in the shape of the apex of cornu of the spermethaca, and it can be distinctively differentiated from these species based on color of body and spermathecal characters. It is clearly distinguished from the closely related species in the same group with spermatheca. A diagnostic key for all Cassida species in Turkey included in the group is also included in the work. The details and descriptions of the aedeagus and spermateca of the new species have been made and the necessary detailed explanations are given in the study. In addition, the study includes information about the host plant and information about the weed species on which of Cassida izginurbalae sp. nov. feeds.
