Özet

Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is a rare infammatory demyelinating disorder. ADEM is difficult to diagnose in the emergency department because specific biological or radiological markers to make the diagnosis of ADEM are yet unavailable. Combination of clinical, neurological, and radiological features and exclusion of ADEM mimickers are required for the diagnosis. We present this case report to emphasize that emergency medicine physicians may misdiagnose ADEM as psychiatric diagnoses espacially if the patient's sensory complaints are prominent.
