Özet

Indoor and small-scale plant care is often influenced by important environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, light, and soil moisture, as well as by issues such as inconsistent watering and limited visibility. This paper presents a low-cost Internet of Things (IoT)-based facility monitoring and irrigation system built around an ESP32 microcontroller and integrated into Apple HomeKit via Homebridge. The ESP32 collects readings from a DHT22 temperature/humidity sensor, a BH1750 ambient light sensor, and an analog soil moisture sensor connected to the ESP32 ADC. The system enables real-time monitoring and control through a cloud MQTT broker (HiveMQ Cloud) over TLS from the smart home dashboard. It supports both manual and automatic pump control, irrigation based on soil moisture thresholds, and includes safety mechanisms such as invalid sensor detection and maximum pump-on timeout. Experimental validation demonstrates reliable MQTT-based telemetry delivery, accurate HomeKit visualizations, and reactive control through MQTT messages.
