This study examined the relationship between teachers' organizational commitment and school culture. The study sample consisted of 270 primary school teachers who participated in an in-service education activity organized in Ankara. The Organizational Commitment Scale and the School Culture Scale were used to gather data. Results indicated that affective and normative components of teacher organizational commitment were positively related to support, success, and task dimensions of school organizational culture. Continuance commitment was positively and significantly associated with bureaucratic school culture. The regression analysis revealed that support and task dimensions of school culture positively and significantly predicted affective and normative commitments of teachers. Bureaucratic culture was the only significant predictor of continuance commitment although success-oriented school culture did not significantly predict teacher commitment. Results are discussed with respect to improving teachers' organizational commitment and school culture.
