Özet

In recent years, pharmaceutical research has increasingly focused on the design of novel antibacterial agents with higher selectivity toward various bacterial strains. One promising strategy involves the synthesis of new pharmacophores starting from piperazine or hydrazone core units. Analytical techniques such as FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and LC-MS are widely employed to elucidate the structural characteristics of newly synthesized compounds, thereby supporting the design of safer and more effective drugs for various medical applications. In this study, two novel piperazine-hydrazone derivatives were synthesized and structurally characterized. Comprehensive spectrometric analyses, including accurate mass measurements and isotopic distribution assessments, were performed to confirm the successful synthesis of the target molecules. The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized compounds was systematically evaluated against seven Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains. Disc diffusion test results indicated that both compounds exhibited moderate inhibitory effects, demonstrating structure-dependent variations in antimicrobial activity. Furthermore, physicochemical parameters, and molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) calculations were carried out to gain more insights into the structural properties, chemical reactivity, and stability of these compounds. Overall, the findings suggest that the newly synthesized derivatives possess promising potential as antimicrobial agents and could serve as valuable scaffolds for future drug development efforts.
