In the architectural world, the competition processes have increased significantly as a method of project acquisition. It is critical to evaluate architects’ approaches towards earthquake in detail within the framework of these competitions. This study aims to analyze whether earthquakes is considered as a design criterion during the design process. Therefore, first prize of city town hall projects located on an active fault line are selected for analysis. As a result of the investigations, it is found that there are no significant errors that could adversely affect the earthquake behavior of structures. This study aims to create an awareness about how earthquake resistant structural design decisions are handled in the architectural design.
