Abstract:

In this study, it was aimed to determine the betting motives of the individuals who play sports games. Afyonkarahisar Ilisu Sandıklı District, which plays a sporadic bet, has included 500 players consisting of randomly selected income level lower and middle income residing in the Yunus Emre Mahallesi. 91.2% of the participants were male (n = 371) and 8.8% were female. (N = 36). As a means of collecting data in the survey, "Bet Induction Scale" (Chantal, Vallerand and Vallieres, 1994) and demographic data were used. As a result, in this study, it was determined that individuals playing outwardly open outdoor sports bet were more prone to betting. The main motivational factors that motivated participants to play sports games were entertainment, curiosity, monetization and addiction.
