Özet:The aim of this study is to modify main problems of search and rescue teams, their problems with their coorporation where they work and team and team staffs' opinions in Turkey. The scope of investigation is official or volunteer search and rescue staffs from search and rescue teams in Turkey, committees of these team staff consist of totally 624 search and rescue staff who working for Civil Defence Search And Rescue Centres under the auspices of General Directorate of Civil Defence(468), AKUT(87), GESOT?M(47) and GÜDAK (22). In the study, ?The Main Problems Scale of Search and Rescue Staff? is applied as a data collection appliance . This scale have composed of 7 dimension as 31 item and (1) organization, (2) legal arrangement (3) organized group, (4) training instructor, (5) tool, (6) literature, (7) psychological. The possible problems of search and rescue teams are evaluated as ? Totally Disagree (1)? and ? Totally Agree (5)? on a Liket type scale. In the study, in order to assess the reliability level of the sub dimensions of the questionnaire, Cronbach Alpha coefficient used in testing the interior consistency is examined, and it is calculated that the total interior consistency is .81. The results of the study shows that volunteer search and rescue staffs are more pleased with the attitudes of the society towards them than the official research and rescue workers, and the points related to the sub dimensions of ? the Main Problems Scale of Search and Rescue Staff? differs according to the the institution they take part in, their ages, their educational backgrounds and how long they have worked so far in a great deal. iv In conclusion, it can be suggested that the official search and rescue teams are aware of the importance of their work and they give importance to their function, but as they are in a dangerous kind of work, they want to have policy and some assistence such as education, surroundings, opportunities and physicological support before, during and after the work. Although, in volunteer institutions, the problems such as coordination and getting into contact are considered to be the main ones, the volunteers are pleased with their part in the organization and the fact that the society perceive their position in a positive point of view improves their motivation.
