Cancer is a deadly disease which tends to increase in the world with the effect of environmental factors in addition to genetic factors. The drugs which are used in the treatment of cancer show serious side effects and the effect of the drugs to the duration of patients? life time varies. It requires high cost when the cost/effectiveness is evoluated.. Today,the importance of cancer prevention and early diagnosis has rised.. The preventation of cancer is aimed by early diagnosis of risk factors in order to be able to changed or eliminated and the constitute of the organism by repairing damages. The formation of cancer is related genetic factors, environmental factors and lifestyle-related factors. Being together of these three factors causes DNA damage and the proliferation of different cells leads to cancer. Chemoprevention which is an important approach to the prevention of cancer has attracted the attention of the scientific world and has been the subject of research. Reveratrol which shows so many positive impacts on health and is the member of fitolaeksin, has taken place in chemopreventation approach and been the subject of numerous of studies by preventing cancer and suppressing the early stages of the formation of cancer. According to the last studies, Resveratrol have mixostrogenic, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory (agonist / antagonist) effects. Resveratrol shows antioxidant effect by removing oxygen free radicals from media and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by preventing oxidative stress-induced impairment of arterial endothelial function,.The opinion that resveratrol has positive effects on prevention of cardiovascular diseases is proved by the reducing effect of resveratrol on oxidative stress and induce of antioxidant capacity and NO synthesis. It is determined by animal studies that resveratrol lengthens life time period and is beneficial at metabolic and neurodegeneretive diseases. It is shown that resveratrol prevents the formation, development of cancer and resveratrol has possible beneficial effects on treatment of cancer by in vivo, invitro animal and human studies.
