Abstract:

This study was carried out to analyze the effect of creativity education program on children's

creativity and auditory reasoning skills applied to children attending pre-school education.

Creativity education program was prepared within the scope of the research. The study group

of the research consisted of 40 children, who were attending the kindergartens of primary

schools of the Ministry of National Education in the same neighborhood in 2016-2017

academic year. The research was carried of in three steps: The pre-test, post-test,

experimental design with control group. Control and experimental groups were randomly

selected. The creativity education program, which was prepared by the researcher, was

applied to the experimental group for four days a week for eight weeks. The data of the study

were collected through “Child Family Information Form”, “Creativity Observation Form“

and ”Selçuk Auditory Reasoning and Process Skills Test”. “Creativity Observation Form”

and the “Selçuk Auditory Reasoning and Process Skills Test” were applied to the

experimental and control groups as pre-test and at the end of the eight-week training

program, the measurement tools were re-applied to the experimental and control groups as

a final test. Four weeks after the post-test, the children in the experimental group were tested

in order to find out whether their learning is permanent. The distributions for the

demographic characteristics of children and families are given as frequency and percentage

values. Due to the effect of the education of children participating in creativity education

program, it was revealed that Mann- Whitney and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test was

performed because the distribution of the data was not normal according to the children who

vii

did not participate in this training at the end of the research. At the end of the research, Mann-

Whitney and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test was performed to find out whether the chidren

participating in creativity education program differ from the children who did not participate

in this training since the distribution of the data was not normal. According to the results it

is concluded that the Creativity Education Program had a positive effect on children's

creativity and the development of auditory reasoning skills and this effect was permanent.
