Abstract:

Nowadays, parametric design methods and software have been widely used by many architectural offices around the world in design processes. It is an undeniable fact that architects, who have to follow the changes in the field of information and communication, regarding both design and progress in this field, also need to be a good user and master parametric design software. Today, studies on parametric design methods, especially facade system solutions, search for form-geometry, the relationship between land and design, iconic building productions and conceptual relations are being studied. However, the lack of a parametric approach was observed especially in the architectural design process, which starts with the concept, are continued with the process of architectural approval in official institutions and then completed with production. Many parameters that limit the project, such as employer demands, land related restrictions, building approach information, precedent limitations, the relations of natural surface and the road in the project, floor heights, net-gross area limitations etc., are present in the design-production processes. In this study, it is aimed to develop a model proposal that can optimize the design-production process with a parametric method developed by Revit and Dynamo, which is a Building Information Modeling (BIM) based software. With this parametric method, it is aimed to provide efficient usage opportunities and simultaneous automation with the project by adding the parameters that direct the design to the software
