Abstract:The thesis study which has been dealt under the title of Image Strategies of Postmodern Art has aimed to have the logical accumulations which are formed by many scientific works that we encounter in artistic literature related to postmodernism discussions simplified. Painting trials that take the typical identity of postmodernism obtained by making simplified into consideration have been done. The reason why these trials have been done is to transform the hypothesis discourse into the visual one. Briefly, to mark the intellectuality of postmodernism in terms of painting art has been intended within the practice of painting art. Within the scope of the thesis study, there are sections which handle the arguments of postmodernism in comparison with those of modernism. These sections have been compiled from the sights of theorists who have different point of views. In the practical parts of the research; the researcher has presented her/his own painting designs with 13 works completed by building them in line with postmodern thinking. Such works have been analyzed from the perspective of postmodernism, and the way and the method of taking part in a large number of postmodern thoughts in the picture have been displayed in the whole of the work. Thus, the thesis study has been conducted in two separate parameters; namely, a compilation section based on literature review and on experimental practice section. While debates of modernism and postmodernism are continuing today, it has been seen that postmodernism have not totally covered an eventuated situation or period. Debates have gained new dimensions with new bases produced in terms of largely modernist and postmodernist advocates, especially the articulation of globalization. Today in conceptual discussions which have been developed over post-postmodernism the thoughts that defend that the postmodern period's transforming by getting stronger with globalization have also been frequently encountered. In the data obtained it has been concluded that modernism, postmodernism and globalization will continue to exist for several decades in the same world of art with separate arguments in the same pot. In the experimental part of the study, postmodern practices provide endless experimentation in painting drill; however, it has been revealed that it is impossible to judge the artistic quality of these essays from a single point.
