Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to evaluate the “Tax Awareness Development Education Curriculum for Children” and its applications in primary school according to the opinions of the primary school teacher. In the study, the opinions of the primary school teacher about the program and the program implementation process, the problems they faced and the solution suggestions they brought to these problems were tried to be determined. The research is a descriptive study. The sample of the study was secelted by criterion sampling. Since the specified program is applied in the 3rd and 4th grades of primary school, the sample of the research consists of 86 volunteers from 3rd and 4th grade teachers who work in the primary education in Siverek district of Şanlıurfa and apply the program. In the research, the “Tax Awareness Development Training Curriculum and Practice Evaluation Questionnaire for Children”, which consists of 56 items, was developed by the researcher to reveal teachers opnions as a data colection tool. A questionnaire consisting of 9 questions has been added at the and of the survey. Statistical package program was used in the analysis of survey data. The results of the collected data were analyzed by calculating the frequency (f) and percentages (%) of each item within the framework of a 5-point likert rating, from “absolutely agree” to “strongly disagree”. The data collected through the opinion form in the last part of the questionnaire were analyzed with the descriptive analysis method. According to the findings obtained from the research, teachers are concerned with the general characteristics of the program; they stated that a clear and understandable language was used in the program, the story-based approach prevailed and that it responded to the needs in terms of individual, society and subject area. The teachers stated that the aims of the program are in line with the students grade level, can be realized through education, are in line with the needs of the society and develop a sense of responsibility for children in tax. Regarding the content dimension, they stated that the content is suitable for the purposes, is related to daily life but interdisciplinary transition should be provided and it remains abstract for students. The teachers state that the activities are remarkable, easy to apply and encouraging to think but more examples of activities should be included. Regarding the measurement and evaluation dimension, teachers stated that this section is weak in the program and complementary assessment activities should be presented. Apart from those stated, the teachers stated that the program is easily accessible via the internet, but it can be used for internet, smart board, projection, computer, etc. They think that it is difficult to implement the program in schools where there are no tools. They also stated that the issue of tax awareness is abstract for children and suggested that there should be more concrete examples on the subject.
