Abstract:The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between the social capital of the school and organizational health according to the perceptions of teachers working in primary schools. In line with this general purpose, it has been tried to determine whether the social capital and organizational health level of the school differs according to some demographic variables and the relationship between the social capital of the school and organizational health. The model of the research is a descriptive relational survey model. The population of the study consists of teachers working in schools in three districts of Ankara with different socio-economic development levels. Determined districts; Çankaya, Etimesgut and Sincan. Among these districts, Çankaya district has the highest socio-economic level; Sincan has the lowest socio-economic level. The sample of the study consists of 475 teachers. In the research, social capital scale developed by Şahin (2011) to determine the social capital level of schools and organizational health scale developed by Hoy and Miskel (1991) and adapted to Turkish by Cemaloğlu (2006; 2007) were used. viii According to the findings; it was determined that teachers' perceptions about the social capital level of the school were at the level of agree. Teachers' perceptions about the social capital level of the school showed a significant difference according to the variables of gender, age, non-governmental organization membership and socioeconomic development level of the district where the school is located. Teachers' perceptions of the organizational health level of the school were found to be mostly at the level of time. Teachers' perceptions about the organizational health level of the school showed a significant difference according to the variables of age, education level, seniority in the school and socio-economic development level of the district where the school is located. In addition, it was determined that there was a moderate positive relationship between variables. Social capital and organizational health levels in schools are similar; it can be said that there is both an effective and developable social capital and a healthy organizational climate in schools. In order to increase social capital in schools and to make efficient use of social capital; collaborative approaches can be conducted with the social environment of schools, civil society and voluntary organizations, in addition joint studies, activities and trainings on the contribution of interaction and participation in social capital to individual / organizational development can be realized.
