Prof. Dr. ECE KONAÇ

Ece Konac, Ph.D. serves as Professor in the Department of Medical Biology, Faculty of Medicine, Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey. She is also the head of the said department since 2018. Dr. Konac further serves a professor of medical biology and genetics at the Institute of Health Sciences of Gazi University. Dr. Konac teaches under- and postgraduate students at the same university various courses that fall under the domain of medical biology and genetics. She also teaches Scientific Research Methods and Ethics since 2019. She supervised 12 Master's and doctoral theses and is currently supervising 6 doctoral theses. Dr. Konac’s current research interests focus on cancer molecular biology, molecular urooncology, epigenetics and unexplained infertility. She has authored over 78 peer-reviewed original articles and reviews as well as 4 book chapters and an additional 113 posters/verbal presentations published as proceedings of national and international scientific congresses. The number of citations of these publications currently exceeds 650 corresponding to an H-index of 16 as of January 2021. She completed, mostly in capacity of project manager, 54 scientific research and development projects including those which received grants from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBİTAK). She was granted 7 national awards for her scientific achievements. Dr. Konac has extensive experience in a range of educational, scientific, organizational and administrative platforms, including but not limited to reviewer positions in renowned SCI-indexed journals. She is a Member of the Board of the Turkish Medical Biology and Genetics Association. Dr. Konac also serves as Associate Editor for the GENE-ELSEVIER and the Anatolian Journal of Cardiology, SCI-indexed journals.
