In this survey, total plate count, total coliform bacteia, thermophilic bacteria, yeasts and molds and osmophilic yeasts were determined by the plate count method in 54 samples of monofloral honey and 30 samples of multifloral honey collected from various sources in Mugla city in Turkey. The results have shown that total microorganisms, total coliforms, thermophilic bacteria, yeasts and molds in monofloral honey samples were more than in the multifloral honeys. Osmophilic yeast count in monofloral honey samples was almost the same as in multifloral sources of honey.
