Biography

She received her bachelor's degree from Blacksea Technical University (KTU) Faculty of Engineering-Architecture, Department of Architecture in 1989, her master's degree from KTU Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Department of Architecture with her thesis titled "Thermal behavior of Turkish briquettes" in 1994 and her doctorate from KTU Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Department of Architecture with her thesis titled "Computer model and program of fire safety analysis of buildings through projects" in 1999. She worked as a research assistant at the KTU Department of Architecture between 1995-2000, as a lecturer at the KTU Department of Interior Architecture between 2001-2002, as an Assistant Professor at the KTU Department of Architecture between 2003-2008, and as an Associate Professor between 2009-2011. In 2003-2004, she continued her research as a visiting professor at the University of New South Wales, the Faculty of Building Environment-Sydney. She served as the Head of the Department of Building Information at KTU between 2008-2011 and as the Vice President of the Department of Architecture at KTU in 2009. Between September 2010 and February 2011, she worked as a faculty member at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Engineering-Architecture, Department of Architecture with Farabi Exchange Program. As of November 2011, she started to work as an Associate Professor at Gazi University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture and became a Professor in January 2015. At the same time, she served as the Head of Gazi University Department of Interior Architecture between 2011-2016 and Senate Member between 2017-2020. In addition to her academic duties, she has served as the 2nd President of TMMOB Chamber of Architects Ankara Branch since February 2024. Within the framework of cooperation with companies, associations, foundations, and ministries in the building sector, she has provided many professional trainings, participated in workshops, and contributed to competition juries. He has national and international articles, research projects, books, and papers on fire safety in buildings, energy-efficient building design, sustainable architecture, and forensic architecture within the scope of Architectural Design and Building Physics.
