Biography
Prof. Emre Ozan Tingaz is currently working at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching, Faculty of Sport Sciences, Gazi University. He began his research career with an experimental study in his undergraduate thesis, where he investigated the effects of mental training on sports skills. He continued his academic journey by securing the top position in the ÖYP (Faculty Member Training Program) in the field of Sports Sciences and was appointed to the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Gazi University.
Dr. Tingaz completed his master’s and doctoral studies in the field of exercise and sport psychology. During his graduate education, he conducted research in sport psychology at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic and the University of Porto in Portugal. Additionally, he began his psychology education as a special student at the Department of Psychology at Hacettepe University and completed his second master’s degree at the Department of Psychology at Çağ University.
Dr. Tingaz adapted the Mindfulness Inventory for Sport (MIS) into Turkish and received the Best Oral Presentation Award in the Psychosocial Fields at the 17th International Sport Sciences Congress. He is also certified as an instructor of the MSPE (Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement) program by the program’s founders, Dr. Keith Kaufman, Dr. Timothy Pineau, and Dr. Carol Glass, under the MSPE Institute.
He is the founder of the Exercise and Sport Psychology Laboratory (GÜESPAL) at Gazi University.He teaches sport psychology courses at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Gazi University. Additionally, he also taught a sport psychology course at the Department of Psychology, Başkent University.
